CHECKING FIELDS ON GAME DAY The home team is responsibile to have one of their players check their field on game day and notify the Commissioner, Phil Rose, no later than 7:15 AM whether the field is playable.. DIRECTIONS TO CASTLE HAYNE PK To get to Castle Hayne County Park from Wilmington: 1) Take North College to Gorden Road (exit 420A); 2) Go north on 117/132 about three miles past Laney High School and past Blue Clay Road to Parmele Road; 3) Turn left onto Parmele Road; 4) Go about one mile. The entrance to the park is on your left at Old Avenue. Take Old Avenue to the end and go RIGHT, go around the bend to the field.
2009 Season Playoff Tournament ATLANTIC DIVISION (Single Elimination) - The Osteos won the playoffs. COASTAL DIVISION (Double Elimination) - The Cardinals won. FINAL 2009 LEAGUE STANDINGS Please refer to the web page titled "Team Standings" for details of this year's and previous years standings. STATE SENIOR GAMES RESULTS We sent three teams to Raleigh to represent Wilmington in the State Senior Softball Games. They consisted of the 60, 65 and 70 teams.
Undefeated State Championship 65 - 69 team captained by Mike Abernathy The 65 team played four games and went undefeated to win the gold medal. In one of the games Charley Lawson hit a home run. The 60 team almost went all the way losing in the final game and took the silver medal. The 70 team played five games and faced stiff competition winning the first two games and losing the third by one run 12-11, then lost the last two games. Richard Price went 11 for 14 batting 786 whileBob Dempsey hit a home run. Next year we will be able to add a 75 team. STATE GAMES MEDAL AWARDS
